Getting Started :Bible Tips & Helpful Resources

Keep it simple and read it. There are a lot of things I don't understand, but I've learned to wait on those things. I have been so blessed just starting in Genesis and taking my time. It is good to realize that God is more eager for you to understand than you realize.

Proverbs 4:20-22King James Version (KJV)
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

The Physical Bible
The Bible is a book that can just sit on the coffee table or book shelf. It is has chapters like any other book. It also has verses and punctuation. A page usually has two columns with some margin notes in between. Some bibles have italics. Some bibles are written in old english and some in modern english. All these attributes were added to make the bible more readable! Keep this in mind when you read it! The bible is supposed to present the heart of God and between it's covers the Word of God can be found.
