Resurrected Life

The word "resurrection' is believed to be derived from the old Latin word, 'resurgere'. We get the english word 'resurgence' from it. It can mean many things such as; rebirth, regeneration, revival,  and re-emergence . The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most significant moment in history. God raised him up and out of this world's doubts, negativity, brutality, and darkness to ascend to his right hand.  Jesus Christ, 'sitting at the right hand of the Father,' is a figure of speech meaning that God has made him Lord of his church. God has given him authority to act on his behalf and Jesus is not just sitting around twiddling his thumbs. He brings resurgence to us as well.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
We have been risen with Christ and we are encouraged to seek those things above.  'Above' refers to  the right hand business of God. God provides perfect love. That is what he is all about! God is spirit, he doesn't really have a physical hand to sit at, but this figure (attributing human characteristics to God) helps us really think about what Christ is doing and has been doing for the last 2000+ years or so. We can be a part of that.

At a very early age Jesus realized who he was when he said; "wist ye not that I must be about my father's business?" (Luke 2:49). Later he taught to pray 'on earth as it is in heaven' (Luke 6:10), that God's will would be present in our life on earth.

We become connected by the gift of holy spirit, when we in our hearts realize that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10) It is really so simple and has results that are far beyond anything we could think of on our own. We too can be raised up and out of doubt, negativity, fear and anything else that attempts to pull us back down into the mud spiritually. This is also how we can help each other now in this life. We also can look forward to permanent resurrection life physically in the future.  We have a lot to celebrate and  be thankful for and its is a great time to think about being about our father's business too.
